On behalf of the organizing committee, It is my pleasure to welcome all medical physicists and health professionals to participate in MEFOMP 2023 medical physics conference that will be hosted by the Royal Hospital at the Sultanate of Oman, 19-22 May 2023.
Following the successful MEFOMP 2021 conference that was held virtually during the pandemic, we are looking forward to continuing this success and meet you in-person this year. This biennial conference is expected to be endorsed by several leading national and international institutions such as the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP), European Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (EFOMP), Asian Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (AFOMP), and other prestigious professional societies. These concerted and integrated efforts will enable us to strengthen the overall program for this scientific event.
This event will focus on the advancements, innovations, and future directions in various aspects of medical physics by providing state-of-the-art and up-to- date developments in the profession. The Theme of the conference is “Advances, Automation and Acceleration in Radiation Medicine”. The conference includes invited and proffered scientific sessions and didactic activities in radiation medicine including but not limited to radiotherapy, diagnostic medical imaging, and nuclear medicine.
This conference is offering a series of diverse continuing education lectures in medical physics and medical radiation applications. Our prospective audience include medical physicists, radiologists, oncologists, clinical scientists, radiological technologists, nurses, radiochemists, radiation therapists, radiation safety specialists, regulators and biomedical engineers.
I hope that at the end of the conference all participants would have acquired the knowledge they expected to receive, the knowledge that will further strengthen their competencies.
